The Unique & Local Content Program provides for development, stewardship and dissemination of unique and local content. The Alliance values flexible, scalable approaches in support of new modes of scholarship, publication across the research lifecycle, and traditional and new uses of hidden collections in teaching and learning. The program supports solutions for unique content needs, recommends consortium-wide practices, and supports an integrated approach for publishing, storing, discovering and preserving resources in our special collections, archives, and digital repositories.
The program is advised by the ULC Team, which charges ULC working groups, and holds scheduled open calls with members.
Services under the Unique & Local Content Program include:
- Archives & Manuscript Collections, which provides enhanced access to thousands of archival and manuscript collections in Idaho, Montana, Oregon, Utah, and Washington through the Archives West website, and support for archival collection management.
- Digital Collections, which supports the creation, maintenance, and aggregation of unique digital content held by Alliance libraries.
