University of Idaho: Circulation Technician

Position Summary:
The primary purpose of the Law Library Circulation Technician is to assist in the daily operations and management of Law Library circulation desk by supervising student desk workers, performing resource sharing functions, and coordinating the Idaho Supreme Court Records & Briefs database.
Pay Range:
$16.36 per hour or higher depending on education and experience.
Minimum Qualifications:
  • One year of customer service experience.
Required Education: 
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience working in a library.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Experience managing a library circulation desk or providing library services in an academic environment.
  • Experience working with spreadsheet, email and PDF software.

Notice of Vacancy Library and Archives Paraprofessional 1 Holland and Terrell Access Services Washington State University Libraries Full-time, 12-month Civil Service staff position located in the Access Services unit in Holland and Terrell Libraries on the Pullman campus of WSU.  This position takes primary responsibility for closing the Holland and Terrell Libraries on Fridays and Saturdays; assists patrons at the two Circulation desks; maintains assigned Interlibrary Loan (ILL) borrowing queue and other assigned ILL tasks. This position works Tuesday through Saturday, 11:00am to 8:00pm.  Summer and other academic break hours may vary. Job duties to include but not limited to the following:

  • Patron Assistance
  • Closing the Holland and Terrell Libraries on Fridays and Saturdays
  • Interlibrary Loan/Summit/Training
  • Stack Maintenance/Mail Service

University of Washington: Science and Engineering Librarian

Overview:  Reporting to the Associate Dean of Libraries for the UW Tacoma Library, the Science and Engineering Librarian coordinates student-centered services for science, mathematics, and engineering departments, centers, and units on the UWT Campus. The successful candidate will be energized by working in a collaborative, team-based environment with colleagues who are passionate about helping ALL of our students succeed. The Science and Engineering Librarian develops and nurtures strategic partnerships across the Tacoma campus and within the UW Libraries to continuously learn about students’ needs and expectations, playing an active role in developing a culture of evidence-based and informed practice in the UWT Library.  The successful candidate is an engaged teacher and learner with a passion for scientific study. The Science and Engineering Librarian will serve as a subject liaison to the School of Engineering and Technology and the Math and Science division of the School of Interdisciplinary Arts and Sciences (SIAS) and may support one or more additional academic departments, colleges, or schools.   This position is not tenure eligible. This position is represented by SEIU 925 – Libraries. This full-time position is responsible for evening library services at Saint Martin’s O’Grady Library, including oversight of both the building and the student workers assigned to Circulation, the Information Commons, and the Multimedia Center.  The position participates in Summit and traditional interlibrary loan borrowing and lending and also assists library patrons in these areas: circulation, basic reference, interlibrary loan, equipment checkouts, and basic technology support in the Information Commons and Multimedia Center. This position requires outstanding customer service skills, attention to policies and procedures, competence with the library’s circulation/resource sharing systems, strong technology skills, and the ability to direct and train student workers.
