In 2018, the Alliance joined DataCite, and six Alliance members began to assign Digital Object Identifiers (DOI) to items using their services. Those members are:

• Oregon Health and Science University
• Oregon State University
• University of Idaho
• University of Oregon
• University of Washington
• Washington State University
• Western Washington University

The Alliance manages this program similarly to how e-resource licensing is managed, in that we receive a combined bill and invoice members for their portion of the fee. Direct support for DataCite DOIs is provided by DataCite, not by Alliance staff or any Alliance group.
