In Academic Year 2023-24, the Primo New UX Testing Project Group will test the new Angular pages as they’re released to prepare for the next migration to the new Primo interface. The group will consist of staff from across Alliance programs with experience in Primo configuration and customization, usability testing, web accessibility, reference and instruction, fulfillment, or other library functions impacted by changes to the Discovery layer. When all pages have been released by Ex Libris, the group will publish a Primo New UX Cookbook with documentation and recommendations to Alliance members to help prepare for implementation.
Throughout the project, the group will:
- Assess each new UX page introduced in the quarterly releases for usability, accessibility, and predicted impacts on library patrons and staff.
- Identify and develop any customizations needed to improve the user experience of the new pages.
- Document the major differences between the current and new interfaces and any administrative steps necessary to prepare the new interface for production.
- Share findings periodically with the Alliance program communities through open calls and discussion lists, as necessary.
